Their access is revoked immediately.

What Happens When You Remove Someone

  • They can no longer access your business
  • They're removed from your team list
  • Their Welcome account still exists (they keep access to other businesses)
  • Content they created remains (menus, pages, etc.)

Who Can Remove Whom

| Your Role | Can Remove | |-----------|------------| | Owner | Anyone (including other owners) | | Manager | Staff only | | Staff | No one |

Removing the Last Owner

Every business needs at least one owner. If you're the last owner:

  • Transfer ownership to someone else first
  • Or close the business account

Before Removing Someone

Consider:

  • Do they have pending work in progress?
  • Should you transfer any responsibilities first?
  • Does anyone else need their knowledge?

Removing access is immediate—make sure the timing is right.

If You're Locked Out

If you accidentally removed yourself or lost access:

  1. Another owner can re-invite you
  2. If no other owners, contact support

Keep at least two owners to avoid lockout scenarios.

After Someone Leaves

Good practices:

  • Remove access promptly (don't wait)
  • Review what they had access to
  • Update any shared knowledge or documentation
  • Consider changing shared passwords (if any exist outside Welcome)

Common Questions

Does removing someone delete their work?

No—menus, website changes, and other content they created remains.

Can I restore someone's access after removing them?

Yes—invite them again. They'll need to accept the new invitation.

What if I removed someone by mistake?

Send a new invitation immediately. Their previous permissions are gone, so you'll assign a role fresh.

Can a removed person still view the public website?

Yes—your public website is public. Removal only affects admin access.
