Recurring Event Schedules
For events that happen regularly—like Trivia Tuesday or Wine Wednesday—set up a recurring schedule instead of creating separate events each week.
Creating a Recurring Event
- Create an event as usual
- Find the Recurrence or Repeat option
- Choose the pattern:
- Weekly (same day each week)
- Monthly (same date or day, like "first Thursday")
- Set an end date or leave open-ended
- Save and publish

Recurrence Patterns
Weekly
Event happens on the same day(s) every week.
- Every Tuesday at 7pm
- Every Friday and Saturday
Monthly
Event happens once a month:
- Same date (15th of each month)
- Same day (first Thursday of each month)
How Recurring Events Display
Your Events page shows:
- Upcoming occurrences
- "Every Tuesday" or similar in the details
- Next occurrence highlighted
Customers see when the next one is without scrolling through many individual events.
Managing Individual Occurrences
Sometimes a recurring event needs adjustment:
- "We're closed Thanksgiving, so no Trivia Tuesday that week"
- "This week's performer is different"
For one-time changes:
- Find the specific occurrence
- Edit just that instance
- Other occurrences stay unchanged
Ending a Recurring Series
When you stop hosting a recurring event:
- Open the event
- Set an end date for the recurrence
- Or change status to closed/draft
Past occurrences remain in your archive.
Best Practices
Be Consistent
The power of recurring events is reliability. "They always have live music Fridays" builds habits.
Update Descriptions
Your recurring event description should work for any occurrence. Avoid date-specific language in the main description.
Promote the Pattern
"Every Tuesday at 7pm" is more memorable than listing individual dates.
Examples
Trivia Night
- Recurrence: Every Tuesday
- Time: 7pm
- Description: "Join us every Tuesday for Trivia Night! Free to play, prizes for top teams."
Weekend Brunch
- Recurrence: Every Saturday and Sunday
- Time: 9am-2pm
- Description: "Weekend brunch with bottomless mimosas and our famous French toast."
