Images not uploading? Here's how to fix common issues.
Quick Checks
File Size
Images must be under 5MB. Large photos from professional cameras often exceed this.
How to reduce file size:
- Use online tools like TinyPNG or Squoosh
- Resize the image dimensions
- Save at slightly lower quality (80-90% is usually fine)
File Format
Supported formats:
- JPG/JPEG: Best for photos
- PNG: Best for logos and graphics
- GIF: Supported but not recommended for most uses
Not supported:
- HEIC (convert to JPG first)
- TIFF
- BMP
- WebP (in some cases)
File Name
Avoid special characters in filenames:
- Good:
hero-image.jpg - Bad:
hero image (final) #2.jpg
Rename files to use letters, numbers, and hyphens only.
Specific Issues
Upload Stuck or Frozen
- Check your internet connection
- Try a different browser
- Refresh the page and try again
- Try a smaller image first to test
"File too large" Error
Your image exceeds the size limit.
- Compress the image
- Reduce dimensions (1920px wide is usually enough)
- Use JPG instead of PNG for photos
Image Appears Blurry
The uploaded image may be too small.
- Use higher resolution originals
- Recommended minimum: 800px wide for most uses
- Hero images: 1920x1080px or larger
Image Appears Stretched or Cropped
Different sections have different aspect ratios.
- Check recommended dimensions for that section
- Crop your image before uploading to match
- Or let Welcome crop and adjust position
Wrong Orientation
Photo showing sideways or upside down?
- Open in an image editor
- Rotate and save
- Re-upload the corrected image
Browser Issues
Try a Different Browser
If uploads fail in one browser:
- Chrome
- Firefox
- Safari
- Edge
Disable Browser Extensions
Ad blockers or security extensions sometimes interfere.
- Try incognito mode (most extensions disabled)
- Temporarily disable extensions
Mobile Uploads
From Phone Camera Roll
- Usually works the same as desktop
- May need to grant Welcome access to photos
- Large photos may need compression first
Photos Won't Select
Check app permissions—Welcome needs photo access on mobile.
