Connecting Square POS

Use Square for your point of sale? Connect it to Welcome to import your menu and keep things in sync.

What You Can Do with Square

  • Import your menu from Square's catalog
  • Sync items so changes carry over
  • Save time by not entering menu data twice

Before You Begin

You'll need:

  • A Square account with items in your catalog
  • Owner or Manager role in Welcome
  • Access to authorize Square connections

Connecting Your Account

  1. Go to Integrations in Welcome
  2. Find Square and click Connect
  3. You'll be redirected to Square
  4. Log in to Square (if not already)
  5. Review permissions and click Allow
  6. You're redirected back to Welcome

The connection is complete! You'll see "Connected" status.

What Welcome Accesses

When you connect Square, Welcome can:

  • Read your catalog (items, categories, modifiers)
  • Read location information
  • Read images

Welcome does NOT:

  • Access your sales data
  • Process payments
  • Modify your Square account

After Connecting

Import Your Menu

  1. Go to Menus > Import
  2. Select Import from Square
  3. Choose which items to import
  4. Review and confirm
  5. Items appear in Welcome

Configure Sync Settings

Choose how Welcome handles updates:

  • Manual import only (you control when)
  • Notification of changes (you review and approve)

Multiple Square Locations

If you have multiple Square locations:

  • Each Welcome location can connect to a matching Square location
  • Import menus per-location
  • Prices can vary by location

Disconnecting Square

If you no longer want the connection:

  1. Go to Integrations
  2. Find Square
  3. Click Disconnect
  4. Confirm

Your Welcome menus remain—only the live connection stops.

Common Questions

Do I need Square to use Welcome?

No—Square is optional. You can enter menus manually.

Will changes in Square automatically update Welcome?

Depends on your sync settings. You can re-import anytime to pull updates.

What if I use Square at some locations but not others?

Connect only the locations that use Square. Others operate independently.

Is there a cost for the Square integration?

The basic integration is included in Welcome. No extra charge.
